Announced back in 2015, Capcom revealed that they would be launching a remake of Resident Evil 2, something that we’re sure fans of the franchise are pretty excited at the idea of. However fast forward to 2017, it’s been almost 2 years and there is still no sight of the game being released, so what’s the deal?

The good news is that Capcom has not forgotten about the game and that they will be releasing it soon. Speaking to Collider, one of the game’s programmers Hiroyuki Kobayashi said, “The only thing I can tell you is about something that’s already out in the public. Resident Evil 2, a remade version, the game, will be out from Capcom soon.”

Exactly what “soon” means is anyone’s guess, whether it be a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or maybe even next year, all of which could mean “soon” depending on who you speak to. However we’re hoping that it won’t take so long, and given that E3 has since passed us by, it probably means that the game’s release might be announced at a different platform.

For example there is Gamescom coming up and the PlayStation Experience, so we guess those are platforms that Capcom could announce the game’s release at, assuming that they don’t do so before then. Until then gamers will just have to wait.
