We’re accustomed to hearing about games being delayed but sometimes the opposite happens, it’s announced that a game is going to be released ahead of schedule. That’s precisely what Capcom has done today. Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America is going to take place earlier this originally promised.

Capcom had previously said that Resident Evil: Revelations would be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall. The company has now confirmed that the game is going to be out for the aforementioned platforms in North America come August 31st.

Resident Evil: Revelations takes place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, the protagonists of this series, are on a mission to stop a bioterrorist organization from laying ruin to the world with a rare virus.

The game is actually being re-released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This version has all of the game’s DLC and updated visuals at 1080p. Capcom also promises more environmental detail and improved creature movements.

All this and more should bring an entirely new dimension to the gameplay experience. Resident Evil: Revelations will be priced at $19.99 when it’s released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 31st.
