Mercedes-Maybach unveiled a new concept car earlier this week that just oozes cool. The Vision 6 Cabriolet concept was unveiled at the 2017 Monterey Car Week in Monterey, California. It’s an all-electric drop top which epitomizes the peak of Mercedes’ Sensual Purity design philosophy. The concept melds classic automotive design element with a sleek futuristic aesthetic. It effortlessly blends classic automotive design with a sleek futuristic twist.

“The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet takes modern luxury into the realms of the ultimate in luxury and is the perfect embodiment of our design strategy. Breathtaking proportions combined with a luxurious “haute couture” interior help to create the ultimate experience,” said Gorden Wagener, Daimler AG chief design officer.

Since it’s inspired by luxury cars from the 1930s, it’s no surprise that the Vision 6 Cabriolet is more than six meters long. It has a single line that runs the entire length of the car. The car’s rear is inspired by yachts and has what the company refers to as a “boat tail.”

The concept has four compact permanent magnet synchronous electric motors that provide 750 horsepower, enabling it to rocket from 0-60mph in under four seconds with a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Mercedes says that the battery will provide a range of 200 miles on a single charge. All of the controls inside the cabin are completely touchscreen with intelligent features and autonomous driving capabilities.

It’s unclear if this concept will ever come to market but Mercedes could eventually bring some of the technology that and design elements it has shown off with this concept to market at some point in the future.
