Spotify For Xbox One Released

It was confirmed over the weekend that Spotify had developed a dedicated app for the Xbox One which would be out in the near future. Starting today, Xbox One owners can get the Spotify app on their consoles. They can use the app to stream music and since the app is capable of running the background, they can continue to stream music from Spotify while playing their favorite games on the Xbox One.

The Spotify app for Xbox One has been listed on the Xbox Store today. Users in some regions are reporting that they are unable to download it just yet but it’s only a matter of time before the app goes live in their regions as well.

The Spotify experience on Xbox One will be similar to how it is on other platforms. Users will be able to access the service’s library of free but will have to put up with advertisements. Those who want an ad-free listening experience with more features can upgrade to Spotify Premium by paying $9.99 per month.

Spotify Connect will enable users to control the music that’s being played on their console with a smartphone, laptop or tablet. They just need to make sure that the devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. This will enable them to control playback on the Xbox One without having to exit their game.
