We know that Google is working on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL handsets, so the question is when will they be announced? A rumor from last month suggested that the phones could be officially announced on the 5th of October, but a recently spotted billboard has suggested that maybe the phones could be announced a day earlier instead.

In a report from Droid-Life, they were sent an image by a source that as you can see in the photo above, is a giant billboard that was erected in Boston. The billboard reads, “Ask more of your phone,” followed by the “G” logo from Google and the October 4 date. While the billboard is rather vague, the mention of phones and the date does seem to suggest that this could be referring to the Pixel 2’s announcement date.

It is strange that Google would choose to use a billboard as opposed to sending out invites to the media to the event, which we reckon that they would have probably done first, so we can’t say for sure if this billboard was really put up by Google, a fake, or someone who is trolling the world.

Droid-Life has reached out to Google for confirmation on whether the billboard is real and if the October 4 date is that of the Pixel’s announcement, so until then perhaps you should take this with a grain of salt for now.
