The Nokia 8 was officially launched last month. It’s HMD Global’s flagship smartphone for 2017. Previous reports have suggested that the handset might be released in the United States. According to new reports, HMD Global might release a variant of the Nokia 8 with higher RAM and storage in the United States.

Given that it’s a flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It features a 5.3 inch QHD Display with Gorilla Glass 5. The variant launched initially has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There’s a 3,090mAh battery keeping the lights on.

The latest reports claim that the Nokia 8 variant for the United States is going to feature higher RAM and internal storage. The U.S. market might get a variant of the Nokia 8 with 6GB and 128GB internal storage.

The handset was launched last month with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and HMD Global recently confirmed that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the flagship is being tested. No release date has been confirmed at this point in time, the company says that it will be released “when perfect.”
