Facebook-owned Instagram has seen immense success with the Stories feature that was certainly inspired by Snapchat’s feature of the same name. Nevertheless, Instagram launched its own version of Stories and it’s even popular than Snapchat now. Facebook has since expanded Stories to all of its major platforms, including WhatsApp. Even Facebook proper has Stories now but they don’t seem to be as popular. The company has even decided to open up Stories to Pages.


Facebook has tried to make Stories popular on the social network but it doesn’t seem to be taking off in the way that this feature did on Instagram. It even allows users to cross-post from Instagram Stories but that hasn’t helped much as well.

Perhaps the next move will. Facebook has confirmed to TechCrunch that it’s going to roll out Stories to all Pages over the coming month. This includes brand pages, news publishers, entertainers, athletes, and nonprofits.

“Over the coming month, Pages will be able to create Stories to share with the people who follow them,” confirmed Facebook product manager Amy Sun. The company says that it has been encouraged to do this by the feedback it has seen from Instagram users and how they’ve embraced stories from brands and public figures.

Facebook users will see Stories from the Pages they like or follow in the Stories section on desktop and mobile. Pages who post stories will have to post them separately on News Feed as well or else the content won’t show up there. They will also disappear after 24 hours.
