One of the unique features of the Nintendo Switch’s hardware is that the left Joy-Con comes with a dedicated button that allows gamers to capture screenshots easily. However for gamers hoping to do more than just capture screenshots, you’ll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has updated the firmware of the console to include video capture as well.

Nintendo has recently pushed out a firmware update to the Switch that will bump it up to version 4.0. Like we said, one of the new features is the ability to capture video, although it has been noted on the changelog that it is only enabled for “select games”. To capture a video, users just need to press and hold down on the screenshot button and it will begin recording.

In addition to the video capture feature, the update will also introduce new profile icons based on Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It will also allow gamers to transfer user profiles and save data to another system, and it has also added the option for gamers to pre-purchase certain games within the Nintendo eShop.

The update should already be live so if you haven’t updated your Switch yet, just fire up your console to get things going.
