These days developers and publishers love to encourage gamers to pre-order games before they are released, sometimes tempting gamers with bonus in-game content as an incentive. However some gamers might prefer waiting for the game to be released before buying, like waiting to check out reviews and so on.

Now if you’re the type that likes to try before they buy, you might be interested to learn that a free trial feature could be coming to Destiny 2 soon. It has been noted that a new emblem added to the game called the Mentor of Light, which in turn has led to speculation that a free trial feature could be coming to the game.

With the original Destiny, Bungie did introduce a free trial where players could unlock a limited amount of content before deciding if they wanted to buy the game, so it wouldn’t really be a stretch to think that such a feature could find its way to Destiny 2 in the future as well. Based on the emblem, it has been hinted that the free trial for Destiny 2 could function similarly, where players can access some story missions and some Crucible modes, and where players who help trial players can earn the Mentor of Light emblem.

There is no word on when this feature will be officially announced, but we’ll keep an eye out for it.
