It’s no secret that Warner Bros. has been working on a new Ocean’s movie. It’s different from the previous movies in this franchise that starred the likes of George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The new Ocean’s Eight has an all-female lead cast in that all eight characters that are crucial to the story are female. The studio today released the first Ocean’s 8 trailer and it promises to be an entertaining flick.

Sandra Bullock plays the lead character called Debbie Ocean. She’s described as the “estranged sister” of Danny Ocean, who was played by George Clooney in the original Ocean’s movies.

The new movie has a star-studded cast. There’s Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, and the indomitable Helena Bonham Carter.

Bullock’s character is shown putting together a new heist crew that wants to steal the $150,000,000 necklace from Anne Hathaway’s character. The humor, pacing, and tone of Ocean’s 8 appears to be quite similar to the previous movies so fans will certainly appreciate that.

Ocean’s 8 is going to be released 11 years after the final Ocean’s movie starring the all-male lead cast was released. Matt Damon, who has appeared in previous films, will be making a cameo in Ocean’s 8. It’s unclear if Clooney or any other original cast members will be making one as well.

Ocean’s 8 is going to be released on June 8th, 2018.
