Since our smartphone batteries don’t exactly last us for days or weeks or end, the next best thing would be to make sure that when we charge them, they get up to capacity in a relatively short amount of time. These days OEMs are introducing fast charging features, but which phone is the fastest?

According to a series of tests conducted by Tom’s Guide, it seems that the OnePlus 5T is the fastest. As you can see in the chart above, the OnePlus 5T manages to hit the 59% mark after 30 minutes of charging, and 93% after an hour. This is considerably more than the competition, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which only manages 35% after 30 minutes.

That being said, it should be noted that the phones listed above all feature varying battery sizes, which means that different phones will take different times to reach their maximum capacities, although the OnePlus 5T, the LG V30, and the Note 8 all feature 3,300mAh batteries, so if you’re looking to compare flagships then you could look at those figures.

At the end of the day it will depend on the preference of users and the features they need. Some people don’t need a phone that charges so fast, while others who are constantly on the go might appreciate a phone that can charge quickly, so if you fall into that camp, then the OnePlus 5T could be worth checking out.
