Rumored 6.5-inch iPhone X Will Reportedly Use LG’s OLED Panels

Thanks to the iPhone X’s bezel-less design, it has allowed Apple to fit a slightly larger display into a smaller body. It also opens the door to even larger displays in the future, which in a rumor from last year is claiming will happen this year, where Apple could launch an iPhone X with a 6.5-inch display.

In fact according to a report from ET News, LG is expected to be supplying Apple with the necessary OLED screens for it. A report from last month revealed that despite the rumors that both Samsung and LG could be involved in the iPhone X’s display, LG confirmed that they did not supply any OLEDs to Apple for the 2017 iPhone X.

The report went on to add that LG was still deciding on what to do regarding supplying OLEDs to Apple in the future, but this latest report from ET News is claiming that LG might have already made up their minds, and that they could begin shipping OLEDs for the 2018 iPhone X in the second half of 2018.

Apparently LG will be the one supplying Apple for the 6.5-inch model, while Samsung is expected to continue supplying Apple for the smaller displays. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but assuming that this is true, it could help ease potential delays for this year’s model.
