[CES 2018] Dell has unveiled new Latitude 5000 and 7000 series notebooks at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in Las Vegas. The new models come with the latest processors from Intel as well as a handful of new features. The designs have been tweaked as well to improve portability.

The Dell Latitude 5490 can be configured with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, 32GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce MX130 graphics. Display options include a 14 inch 1920×1080 pixel resolution touch display with a carbon fiber reinforced polymer LCD back. Customers can opt for up to 1TB of Hybrid storage options. The battery life is promised to last up to 22 hours.

The Latitude 5490 from Dell is available right away with prices starting at $779. It measures in at 13.1 x 0.9 x 9.0 inches and weighs 3.52 lbs. Dell will offer hardware authentication bundles for customers who require advanced security functionality. These bundles include smart card readers, fingerprint reader, Windows Hello support, Control Vault 2.0, and more.

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a premium ultrabook that promises exceptional performance in a very portable package. It also offers the same configuration and storage options. Both machines can be had with up to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. This ultrabook measures 13.03 x 8.7 x 0.68 and weighs 3.11 lbs.

Some configurations are available today with prices starting at $1049. Dell will offer this machine with the Super Low Power Display panel in Spring 2018. It says that this panel reduces power consumption by 50 percent and thus pushes the battery life to over 20 hours. The Active Steering Antenna that delivers up to 155% throughput improvements on Wi-Fi is also going to be available in Spring 2018.
