We have been hearing about Sony’s upcoming God of War for a while now, but in terms of a release date that’s still pretty much a mystery. However according to Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia Localization Producer Chris Ashimine, it seems that we might be able to expect a release date soon.

Speaking to Japanese Magazine Weekly Famitsu (via DualShockers), Ashimine revealed that the team behind the game might be getting close to an official announcement of the game’s release date, and that fans should look forward to it soon. He also promised Japanese gamers high-quality localization of the game.

That being said, a leak from last month on the PlayStation Store has revealed that God of War could be released on the 22nd of March, 2018. The date was quickly changed to the 31st of December, 2018 which is clearly a placeholder, leaving us to wonder if maybe the original release date might have been the more accurate one.

However we should point out that Sony did not mention anything during the PlayStation Experience event after that, so maybe neither date is correct. In any case hopefully we will find out soon enough, and so far the game looks pretty awesome and is a fresh take on the franchise, where it will feature an older Kratos along with his son.
