It was first rumored last year that Asus will launch new Zenfone devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February. The company itself said in September 2017 that its new ZenFone 5 series would be launched in the first quarter of 2018. The company recently confirmed that it will indeed be launching the new ZenFone 5 series at MWC 2018 in Barcelona later this month. It has scheduled a press event on February 27th for the purpose. Some press renders of the ZenFone 5 Lite have now surfaced online along with additional details about its specifications.

Well known Twitter leakster @evleaks posted these press renders of the ZenFone 5 Lite on the microblogging network. The renders showcase the device in Moonlight White, Midnight Black, and Rouge Red colors.

The accompanying tweet mentions that the ZenFone 5 Lite is going to feature a Full HD+ resolution 18:9 display as well as dual 16 megapixel cameras at the back. The handset is also said to feature a 20 megapixel front camera for exceptional selfies.

We can also make out a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor in these images which isn’t surprising given that the 18:9 aspect ratio doesn’t really leave room at the front for a physical home button that can house the fingerprint sensor.

Asus is also expected to unveil the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5 Max at its MWC 2018 event later this month alongside the ZenFone 5 Lite. No further information is available right now about the specifications of those handsets.
