Samsung is yet to bring stereo speakers to its handsets even though many of its competitors have launched handsets with stereo speakers. The company was expected to do this with the Galaxy S8 last year but we all know that didn’t happen. Another rumor has now surfaced which suggests that the Galaxy S9 may have stereo speakers. It also details some improvements that the company might make to Bixby Vision.

The rumor claims that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are going to come with dual Dolby Surround speakers tuned by AKG thus finally bringing stereo speakers to the Galaxy S family.

There has been some circumstantial evidence to support this theory as well but Samsung has given no hints so far about stereo speakers for the Galaxy S9. This is something that Samsung fans have been wishing for a long time so they will be excited if it does happen.

As far as Bixby Vision is concerned, it’s claimed that the feature will have the ability to translate text in real-time as it will be backed by Google Translate. Bixby Vision already uses Google Translate to power its translation feature but it’s not done in real-time. That might change with the Galaxy S9.

Samsung may also switch from Foursquare to Google for the augmented reality feature of Bixby Vision which enables the service to provide information about landmarks close to the user. This means that the feature would be able to offer a higher quality of information that it pulls from Google’s vast data library.

None of these features have been officially confirmed so take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.
