Having left the White House after serving two terms as the country’s president, Barack Obama might have his sights set on a different kind of job now. According to a new report, the former president is in talks with a “production” deal with Netflix. The possibilities reportedly being discussed include him serving as a producer on a show about inspiring American stories or as a moderator of a new show on Netflix.

CNN reports, citing a source familiar with the discussions, that Obama and Netflix are in discussions concerning a “production partnership” but cautions that a deal hasn’t been reached as yet. If one is reached then it would see both Obama and his wife Michelle being involved in producing a show for Netflix.

A deal would be a win-win situation for both parties, at least on paper. The Obamas will get a platform that reaches a substantial audience globally while Netflix will be able to provide exclusive programming with the former president’s name on it. That’s the kind of thing that sells subscriptions.

A separate report in the New York Times mentions that “The number of episodes and the formats for the shows have not been decided.” It reported that there are two potential shows being discussed. The other might feature Michelle Obama championing her White House causes which included health and nutrition.
