Battlefield V Will Take The Series Back To World War 2

A new report has offered some details about the 2018 Battlefield title that’s going to be unveiled in a couple of months. It’s said to be a sequel to the popular Battlefield 1 title that was based on the first World War. The new title was internally known as Battlefield 2 but it’s reportedly going to be launched as Battlefield V later this year.

Battlefield V will take the series back to World War 2 for the first time since Battlefield 1943 was released in 1943, this according to anonymous sources who shared this information with GamesBeat.

Battlefield 1 has been a major success for EA, the game had more than 25 million players by the end of December last year and it sold faster than Battlefield 4. Fans liked the fact that the game had gone back to a historical setting after years of modern military shooters.

EA doesn’t seem to be tinkering with the formula that much this year. Battlefield V will be an entirely new game and not a remaster of the 2005 Battlefield 2 even though that’s the name with which this title has surfaced in the rumor mill a few times as well.

Battlefield V will reportedly be revealed by EA in the coming months and it’s expected to release the title before the end of this year. EA and Battlefield developer DICE has yet to comment on this report.
