Group chats can get unwieldy especially if you have a lot of people in the group. It gets even messier when there are no admin controls where users can add other users whenever they please. However the good news for Facebook Messenger users is that it looks like that platform is gaining new group admin tools.

With the update to the platform, group chats on Messenger will now feature admin privileges. This will act the same way as other message apps and platforms where an admin has the final say on who gets in and who gets kicked out of group chats. They also get the ability to promote other users to admin if they need a bit more help.

The update will also feature joinable links which will let users join the chat at a click of a link. This can be useful when you’re trying to organize an event and don’t have everyone’s contact to add them to the chat, and creating a joinable link solves that problem. The link lets them join directly or they might have to wait for an admin approval depending on how you setup the group chat.

The update should already be live so if you are a frequent user of Messenger and participate in group chats, these new tools could be worth taking a look at.
