The last time we saw The Karate Kid movie was back in 1989, at least if you’re not counting the ones that did not star Ralph Macchio. As some of you might have heard, the franchise is expected to make a comeback with “Cobra Kai” where it will reignite the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, with William Zabka reprising his role.

The good news is that it looks like a new trailer for the upcoming movie has been released where it will be released as a YouTube Red Originals movie. This means that it won’t be available in cinemas and you will need to be subscribed to YouTube Red in order to enjoy it, presumably as part of YouTube’s push for creating original content.

According to the description, “Now living in the affluent hills of Encino, Daniel LaRusso leads an enviable life with his beautiful family, while running a successful string of car dealerships throughout the valley. Meanwhile, his high school adversary, Johnny Lawrence, whose life has taken a rocky turn, seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. Their lives inevitably become intertwined and the rivalry is reignited, setting forth the next generation of ‘karate kids’ in COBRA KAI.”

If you have a couple of minutes to spare you can check out the trailer in the video above.
