Are you excited at the prospect of seeing new Nokia phones? If you are, you might be interested to learn that HMD Global has recently started to send out press invites to an event that they will be hosting in Russia on the 29th of May. It is unclear as to what might be announced, but given HMD’s association with Nokia, we’re probably looking at new phones.

It has been pointed out that at least three Nokia handsets have recently been given regulatory approval over in Russia, so there’s a good chance that we will be seeing at least three new Nokia phones. The Nokia X6 has also recently been announced but given that the launch seemed originate from China, perhaps the event in Russia could announce the handset for the market as well.

Earlier this year at MWC 2018, a HMD executive confirmed that several Nokia handsets were due for a refresh, such as the Nokia 2, 3, and 5, so there is also a chance that the event could be about these phones. If you were hoping for something high-end it seems unlikely that will be happening at this particular event.

In any case check back with us on the 29th of May if you’d like to see what HMD Global might have in store for us in terms of new Nokia phones.
