Mega Man fans have a lot to look forward to this year which marks the 30th anniversary of this popular title. Capcom has already confirmed that it’s soon going to release Mega Man 11 and two new Mega Man Legacy Collection compilations. It has now confirmed that two classics from this franchise are going to be re-released on cartridge. Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X are going to be released on cartridge once again.

The Mega Man 2 for NES and Mega Man X for Super NES cartridges will be limited to a run of around 8,500 units so if you want one, you must hurry before the stock runs out. Each is priced at $100 and will come with deluxe packaging and an instruction booklet that has been described as “premium.”

Capcom has confirmed that each cartridge has the original game code on a brand new PCB board so they’re more than just novelty items, these new cartridges will be fully playable on NTSC consoles.

The classic cartridges will be available in the standard opaque version and a translucent, glow-in-the-dark blue color that’s going to be limited to a batch of 1,000 each. Those who are interested can head over to im8bit.com right now and pre-order one for themselves but they have to keep in mind that the cartridges won’t be shipped until September this year.
