id Software is a game developer that many an FPS gamer is familiar with. After all the company did help popularize the FPS genre through titles such as Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake. Back in 2011, the company launched a new FPS franchise in the form of RAGE and for those wondering about a sequel, wonder no more.

Publisher Bethesda has recently announced and confirmed RAGE 2 in a short trailer in the video above, with promise that a gameplay trailer will be released soon as well. The announcement doesn’t really come as a surprise as several days prior to the reveal, there were hints that RAGE 2 was in the works and could be announced soon.

It has been about 7 years since the last RAGE game and there were fears that the franchise might be dead, although back in 2013 the game’s creative director had reassured fans that wasn’t the case. However there were some hiccups along the way as RAGE 2’s development was cancelled back in 2012 in favor of Doom.

It has been a long time coming but we suppose better late than never, right? Unfortunately Bethesda makes no mention of when RAGE 2 will be released, but hopefully we’ll get those answers at E3 2018. Until then stay tuned for the gameplay video which should be released tomorrow.
