Essential hasn’t said much about its plans for the future amid reports that the company has canceled its second smartphone and may even be putting itself up for sale. While maintaining radio science on those important questions, Essential has now launched its second modular accessory for the Essential Phone and it brings a standard 3.5mm headphone jack aside from an enhanced audio experience.

The Audio Adapter HD is the second modular accessory for the Essential Phone that the company has launched so far. It has a built-in amp as well as the capability to play Master Quality Authenticated which, for those who are unaware, is a hi-res streaming audio technology.

The accessory adds a 3.5mm headphone jack to the mix as well. Essential is going to release this accessory over the summer and it hasn’t confirmed at this point in time how much it’s going to cost.

Essential has confirmed, though, that it has teamed up with HiFi music streaming service Tidal to give all existing and new Essential Phone customers a free three month Tidal HiFi subscription. More details on how to redeem this offer are available on Essential’s website.

Essential’s first modular accessory for the handset was a 360-degree camera that was priced at $200 but its price has dropped considerably at retailers such as Amazon since then. The Audio Adapter HD will most likely be cheaper than $200 at launch.
