Kart-style racing games are popular and we have seen various companies tackle the genre, with the most successful possibly being Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise. However as you might have heard, last month there was talk about how Nickelodeon was planning their own karting game.

Turns out the reports were true because Nickelodeon Kart Racers has been officially announced. As the name suggests, this is a racing game which will feature various characters from various Nickelodeon franchises. According to the press release, this will include popular shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, and more.

There will be 24 tracks that will be available at launch, all based around various locations from the different TV shows, which includes Bikini Bottom, NYC sewers, Tommy Pickle’s house, Arnold’s school, and so on. There will be local multiplayer, co-op, customization for the karts, attacks, a Battle Arena, just to name a few.

It sounds like a very standard/typical kart racing game where players not only race against each other, but will have access to tools that will attempt to hamper the other player. The game will be launched on the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch on the 23rd of October where it will be priced at $40.
