Fortnite is one of the most popular games on the planet right now. It’s available for a variety of platforms and was most recently released on Android. It appears that Fortnite for Apple TV is in the pipeline as well. New code has been discovered which suggests that Fortnite may be coming to Apple’s set-top box.

Fortnite is a battle royale title that’s free-to-play. That’s one of the reasons why the game’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent months. It’s already available on multiple Apple platforms such as macOS and iOS.

@StormLeaks, a Twitter account focused on Fortnite leaks, has discovered a reference to tvOS in the game’s code. The Apple TV’s operating system is called tvOS. It’s an indication that Fortnite for Apple TV might be a possibility.

There mere inclusion of a tvOS string is far from a confirmation that Fortnite for Apple TV is confirmed but it goes to show that Epic is considering launching the popular free-to-play game on the platform.

Since the Apple TV’s remote doesn’t have the controls required to handle the game, if Fortnite for Apple TV is ever released, the set-top box owners will most definitely have to buy a gamepad if they wish to play Fortnite on Apple TV.
