Both these searches are part of Google Search and already uses machine learning to help users find the best/cheapest flight tickets and hotel rates, but now they have been upgraded where Google will actually provide users with insights to let them know when they’ve gotten the best deal.
According to Google, “For Thanksgiving this year, we’re showing a new tip when you search in Google Flights on your phone. It shows you whether the price you’re seeing for a given flight is a “good” price—that is, is it unusually low, is it typical, or is it high—based on historical prices and prices available so far this year.”
For those who are more flexible with when they want to travel, Google has also updated the Explore Map feature in Google Flights. Users can just search for a destination they plan to visit, and by analyzing the different destinations and historical flight prices, Google can then list users the best deals that they have found so far.
