OneDrive users will now be able to take advantage of a new folder protection system. The feature will automatically sync their pictures, documents, and desktop folders to OneDrive. This will ensure that a computer’s important folders are backed up to the cloud storage service and that there’s no loss of data should something ever go wrong.
OneDrive users who have multiple Windows 10 PCs will find that this feature will automatically keep all of these folders in sync. Microsoft first made this folder protection feature available to OneDrive business users a couple of months ago and it’s now offering this feature to all users of its cloud storage service.
“This is a new feature we started rolling out broadly this week that is now available to OneDrive users with personal accounts,” a spokesperson for the company confirmed to The Verge, adding that “It makes it easier to move content into OneDrive, have access to all your important files on all your devices, and keep more files protected with features like ransomware detection & recovery.”
The folder protection feature can be enabled from the OneDrive settings on Windows 10. Just navigate to the Auto Save tab and enable the update folders feature by clicking on the button under protect your important folders.
