The new model will be offered in two sizes: a 27-inch version and a 32-inch version, where they are priced at around $400 and $460 respectively. Granted you could get non-curved monitors for less, but when you consider that Samsung’s other curved monitors are priced close to $1,000, these do seem more affordable.
That being said despite the difference in size, both models will share pretty much the same features in terms of hardware. This includes a 2,560×1,440 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 1,800R curvature, 4ms response time, 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and 300 cd/m2 brightness. The monitors will also come with 2x HDMI ports, 1x DisplayPort, and a headphone jack. There does not appear to be USB-C connectivity so if you’re hoping to use this with the MacBook Pro or another laptop with USB-C, you’d be out of luck.
According to Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “Due to the rapidly increasing demands of gaming monitors, we sought to offer competitively-priced gaming monitors for more users to benefit from premium technology.”
