We know that Apple is interested in expanding their publishing division as there have also been rumors about them potentially looking to acquire Conde Nast, and now a new report from Recode has revealed that Apple is now looking to throw in newspapers into their subscription service as well.
The report claims that Apple exec Eddy Cue has been reaching out to various publications such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post about joining the app. At the moment all these publications already offer subscriptions to their readers, but like we said, the concept of a buffet-style subscription where one price gets you unlimited access could be a lot more appealing.
This report also seems to reaffirm the rumors in which Apple could be planning a bundled subscription service that would include music, videos, and the news. It is unclear when this service will be announced (if at all), but maybe, just maybe, we’ll learn more at Apple’s iPhone event which takes place next week.
