Microsoft has already sent out invites to the press for a hardware event on October 2nd. The company is expected to launch refreshed models of the Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro at the event. A new report claims that while the Surface Laptop 2 won’t come with any design changes, the notebook will be offered in an all-black color.

The color will obviously not be the only change that the Surface Laptop 2 will bring to the table. Expect all-new internals for the notebook even though it may not look that different from its predecessor.

Microsoft will reportedly be offering the new Surface Pro in black as well. Some of you may be aware that the original Surface Pro was offered in black so the company could simply be paying an homage to that original model this year. The Microsoft logo will be in chrome so that would make for a good contrast with the dark color.

A render of the Surface Laptop 2 in black has been leaked online as well. The design isn’t that different compared to its predecessor but it does look good in that black color. The other images also tell a similar story.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed or denied anything about the new models at this point in time and we can’t expect it to now with the event just around the corner.
