Microsoft has already sent out invites to the press for a hardware event on October 2nd. The company is expected to launch refreshed models of the Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro at the event. A new report claims that while the Surface Laptop 2 won’t come with any design changes, the notebook will be offered in an all-black color.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup has been very well received so far and it appears that the company is looking to kick things up a notch next year with the Surface Pro 6. According to a new report, Microsoft is going to launch a “heavily redesigned” Surface Pro 6 in 2019, assuming that’s what the next product in this lineup will end up being called.
The lack of USB Type-C ports on the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop irked many customers who picked up these devices and Microsoft confirmed back then that it would release a Surface USB-C dongle to address the matter. The company hasn’t released one as yet but it wants customers to know that it hasn’t forgotten about it. Microsoft says that it’s going to release the USB-C dongle later this year.
When Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop last year, it was priced starting at $999 which isn’t completely unaffordable. However admittedly there are cheaper laptops out there for those not too fussed about form factor and design, but now it looks like Microsoft wants to make their Surface Laptops more affordable.

However, the new Surface Pro doesn’t have a USB Type-C port, something that’s common on almost all high-end computers now. Microsoft’s solution for that is a USB […]

This is also why some computer makers have decided to include the port in their laptops, such as Apple who had decided to eschew with the more traditional USB-A ports in 100% favor of USB-C for its new laptops.
