Narcos is perhaps one of the most popular original series from Netflix. It was confirmed early on that the show will stick around even as it completed the first three seasons that were focused on the Cali cartel of Colombia. It was hinted in the final season that the story might be moving to Mexico and that’s precisely what’s going to happen. Netflix has confirmed that the show is now called Narcos: Mexico and it will be released on November 16th.

The expectations are undoubtedly high from series co-creators Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro who have delivered exceptional three seasons so far. This isn’t technically a new season of the earlier series. It’s not an installment. Netflix is basically positioning it as a new series hence the slight change in the name.

The story of Narcos: Mexico will be focused on the rise of the country’s Guadalajara cartel in the early 1980s. A short trailer has been released today which provides glimpses of what to expect from the much-awaited season.

The trailer also reveals two new cast members which include Diego Luna as cartel leader Félix Gallardo and Michael Peña as an undercover DEA agent Kiki Camarena who is responsible for bringing down the cartel boss.
