An image leaked out of China earlier this week and suggested that perhaps there’s a Nokia smartphone in the pipeline that has five rear cameras. It wasn’t the most clear of images so there was the possibility that it could be a fake. A much clearer image of this device has now surfaced and yet again we can see five lenses at the back assembled in the most unusual fashion.

It’s unclear whether this is just a prototype or if HMD Global, the Finnish company making Nokia-branded smartphones now, is actually going to launch this device which will definitely be a conversation starter.

Some reports suggest that it may be the upcoming Nokia 9 while others believe that it could be the Nokia 10. There’s obviously no comment on it from the company as yet so take it all with a grain of salt for now.

This is the first proper image that we have seen of this mysterious device. The branding at the back confirms that this is going to be a Nokia device with five cameras that tout Zeiss optics. What these five cameras will achieve remains a mystery for now.

HMD Global has no events lined up in the coming days so it’s not known at this point in time if and when the company is planning to launch this handset.
