It was recently confirmed by Razer itself that it’s developing a successor to its first gaming phone, called the Razer Phone. The company hasn’t confirmed any other details about this handset so far but reports have now started trickling in about the improvements that we can expect. A new report claims that the Razer Phone 2 could come with Chroma LED effects for notifications.

Razer is well known for its Chroma LED effects. They are present in a wide variety of its products, showcasing Razer’s preference for RGB lighting. The company’s Chroma platform is all about these lighting effects so it won’t be surprising to see Razer bring it to the smartphone as well.

According to a new report, the Razer Phone 2 is highly likely to feature Chroma LED effects out of the box. The company is said to be working to use an LED controller from Texas Instruments to make this happen. If it’s able to do that, the phone would then light up whenever notifications come in.

It would certainly make the Razer Phone 2 stand out from the crowd even if its technical specifications don’t. The first Razer Phone features a 120Hz display and was focused on mobile gaming. That’s likely going to be the recipe for the successor as well.
