While Tesla would much rather you purchased one of its cars, it does sell some branded accessories and gear for the fans. Its wireless smartphone charger was one such accessory that actually saw a lot of demand when it was first listed for sale on Tesla’s online store. It went out of stock quickly. Tesla is now bringing back the wireless smartphone charger and if weren’t able to buy it previously, you’d be happy to know that the charger now costs less than it did when it was first released.

Tesla’s wireless charger has a sleek design and was available in black and white colors for $65 initially. It has a 6,000mAh capacity with a 5W output. An integrated USB Type-C plug is present as well for standard charging.

Multiple reports on social media from owners of the charger suggest that Tesla is sending them emails to inform customers that the wireless charger will soon be available for purchase once again. It will now cost $49 with the price reduction being made possible by a larger manufacturing quantity, according to Tesla.

The reason it’s sending these emails is to let the early customers who paid $65 for the charger is that they will automatically receive a refund of $16 plus local sales tax. The amount will be refunded to the credit card used to pay for it. Tesla hasn’t clarified in the email precisely when the wireless charger will be available for purchase once again through its website.
