The problem with turntable setups is that while we’re seeing more companies put forward new models with modern designs, a lot of them aren’t quite as updated in terms of tech, meaning that you will still need to connect speakers to them using cables. This is not an issue with good cable management, but can be tricky if you’re looking to setup multi-room audio functionality.

However Yamaha thinks that they might have solved that problem with the launch of the MusicCast Vinyl 500. These are a set of turntables that have the ability to stream audio wirelessly to compatible speakers. This means that you could have the turntable setup in your living room, but have the ability to stream its audio to your bedroom, kitchen, guest room, backyard, or anywhere as long as you have compatible speakers that are in range.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? Unfortunately there is a catch and that is you will need MusicCast speakers for it to work, which unsurprisingly Yamaha is also offering with the MusicCast 50 speakers. That being said, the entire setup won’t come cheap as the MusicCast Vinyl 500 itself is priced at $700, but if you want to add the speakers then don’t be surprised if the entire setup ends up costing you more than $1,000.
