If you’ve played and enjoyed EVE: Online, then you’ll be pleased to learn that CCP has announced a partnership with NetEase in which they will be launching a new mobile game called EVE: Echoes. This is not the first time that the EVE franchise has been brought to mobile, but this will be the first time that the EVE: Online experience will be recreated for mobile devices.

According to the description by CCP, “Authentic to the EVE universe that players know and love, EVE: Echoes will let players venture deep into space, to write not only their own history, but that of the galaxy itself. Whether engaging in interstellar combat, trade, or exploration, as well as many other activities across thousands of planetary systems, players will be free to experience hallmark EVE gameplay on their preferred mobile device.”

Note that this isn’t actually EVE: Online but it is expected to offer up a similar experience, at least from what we can tell from the gameplay footage in the video above. Also note that the footage shows the game in alpha status which means that there will be plenty of changes ahead of its release and you shouldn’t base your opinion on the footage, but it should give players a rough idea of what to expect.

The game is set for a release in 2019 (no specific dates were mentioned) and will make its way onto iOS and Android.
