A lot of flagship smartphones these days come with pretty high-end and powerful hardware that are usually more than capable of playing games, but despite all that, there are some companies who decided that maybe a smartphone dedicated to gaming might be a good idea, with Razer kicking off that trend with the Razer Phone.

Now it looks like Huawei could be next because in a teaser video they recently posted onto Twitter, the company has teased the Mate 20X which based on the short video we’re seeing, could be Huawei’s own take on a gaming smartphone. Huawei is expected to announce its Mate 20 smartphones next week, where it was originally supposed to be just the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, but the Mate 20X would mark the third model in the lineup.

Details about the handset are scarce at the moment, but judging from the video, it seems to advertise cooler performance and the ability to play games longer, which basically translates to a better cooling system to manage the heat generated while playing games, and also a potentially larger battery.

What’s interesting is that Huawei could have actually hinted at their plans for such a device. The company just last month announced a new graphics acceleration feature for its Kirin chipset called GPU Turbo that is designed to enhance gaming, so safe to say that this is a feature we can probably expect from the Mate 20X.
