HMD Global’s Nokia handsets are quickly receiving their Android 9 Pie updates. It’s keeping the swift updates promise for Android One devices. The Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 6.1 is out now. This is the second Nokia device to receive a stable version of Android 9.0 in recent weeks.

Android 9 Pie is going to bring a handful of new features to the device. The features include Adaptive Battery, App Actions, and a new gesture-based navigation system that seems to have divided Android fans.

This is the second Android 9 Pie update that HMD Global has released for Nokia devices since it released Pie for the Nokia 7.1 Plus last month. The Nokia 6.1 is an Android One device as well so it was always expected to receive a major update like Pie swiftly.

The Adaptive Battery feature uses deep learning to understand the usage patterns and then prioritizes battery power on the apps that are most important to the user. Adaptive Brightness will automatically adjust the phone’s brightness by learning from interactions with different settings.

The Android 9 Pie update is being rolled out starting today for the Nokia 6.1. Users should expect to receive an update notification on their devices in the near future if they haven’t already.
