One of the features of WhatsApp for iOS is the ability for users to swipe a message to quote and reply it. This isn’t a new feature and has been around for a while now, but the good news for Android users is that if you wanted the same feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that in the latest WhatsApp for Android beta, the feature was spotted.

For those who are unfamiliar, replying a message by quoting it isn’t new to WhatsApp. However for Android users, to quote a message to reply to, they had to tap and hold the message and hit the reply button. The additional steps involved made it a lot slower compared to just swiping on it, but the time of hitting that reply button could soon be over.

These changes were spotted in the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android in version 2.18.300. It is unclear when this beta will be released and if this feature will be part of it (sometimes certain features are spotted in the beta but don’t make it to the next public release), but we imagine that it shouldn’t be too long of a wait.

Other features that Android users can look forward to is also support for picture-in-picture support for YouTube, another feature that iOS users have enjoyed for a while now.
