A few days ago, Nintendo held a Direct presentation in which they shared more details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate title. During the presentation, it was revealed that the game would be getting two more characters in the form of Street Fighter’s Ken and Incineroar from Pokemon.

According to Nintendo, Ken is expected to play as an “echo” character to Ryu. What this means is that they will both share a similar play style and moves, although Nintendo notes that Ken is expected to be “faster”, while Incineroar will focus on using moves such as grabs and throws, so there should be a character that suits all play styles.

This also means that the total number of playable characters right of the box will be a whopping 74. When Nintendo first announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, they revealed new characters that would be coming to the game, so it’s actually a nice surprise that the company unveiled more new characters that will be part of its roster.

Nintendo has also announced that gamers who purchase the game early (between the 1st of November to the 31st of January, 2019) will be able to play as the Piranha Plant from the Mario franchise, although this will only available in February 2019.
