Huawei today revealed when it will start rolling out the EMUI 9.0 update based on Android 9 Pie to compatible devices. It has been running a beta program for the update and has now confirmed when the next iteration of Android will be headed to the Mate 10 and P20 as well as other compatible devices.

Huawei has confirmed through its official Weibo account today that it’s going to start rolling out the EMUI 9.0 update for the Mate 10 and P20 series first. The Honor 10, View 10, and Honor Play are also on the list to receive this update first.

EMUI is Huawei’s own skin that it plasters on top of the Android OS. Users should expect a lot of improvements to the custom skin while they will also get all of the improvements that Google has made in Android 9 Pie. This includes the new navigation experience as well as the battery and performance tweaks.

Huawei is going to start rolling out the update for the aforementioned devices starting November 10th. It’s likely going to be a phased roll-out so users across the globe may have to be patient. At least they can rest assured now that their handsets will be receiving the Android Pie update sooner rather than later.
