Sony’s presence at E3 has been more or less a guarantee ever since the event was launched. However the company recently confirmed that for E3 2019, they will not be present. For those worried about Sony’s absence and whether or not this could be a sign of trouble in the industry, it seems that other companies don’t seem to be too bothered.

According to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, he has confirmed that Nintendo will be at E3 2019 next year. He was quoted as saying, “E3 is an outstanding opportunity for us to share new games and experiences with fans and business partners from across the globe. Every year, we discuss what will be the best way for us to take advantage of the next E3 show in order to bring smiles to people’s faces.”

That being said, it is unclear if Nintendo plans on holding their own stage at the event which is what Sony and Microsoft have done, but chances are we might be looking at Nintendo hosting their own Direct/Treehouse shows which will be streamed from Japan ahead of the event, which is what they’ve been doing so far. In addition to Nintendo, Microsoft has also confirmed that they will be in attendance, making Sony the only console maker to be absent from the event.
