Back in the day, BlackBerry was one of the few companies that did not shy away from design collaborations with others, namely Porsche Design where we saw quite a number of Porsche Design BlackBerry phones released. These days that mantle seems to have been taken up by OnePlus.

In a recently spotted landing page (via The Verge), it appears that OnePlus has scheduled some kind of event with McLaren for the 11th of December. Details about what this event could be about is unclear, but given that OnePlus pretty much only makes smartphones, it stands to reason that a OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition could possibly be in the works.

Should such a device be launched, we doubt that it will feature major changes from the normal OnePlus 6T. We expect that in terms of hardware, it should retain the same specs as the regular OnePlus 6T, but the main difference would probably be its design where it might get a new coat of paint to better represent McLaren. If we had to guess, there would probably also be some McLaren-related accessories and also maybe exclusive wallpapers.

This would not be the company’s first time teaming up with others. Previously we have seen OnePlus launch Star Wars themed handsets and also a handset for the Avengers movie, so should this McLaren OnePlus 6T be real, we can’t say that we would be surprised.
