The prices of our gadgets seems to be increasing these days, which means that replacing them can be rather painful on the bank account. This is why taking care of your gadgets is important if you don’t want to pay money replacing them or having them fixed. For those who own Razer-branded computers or phones, the company might have something for you.

The company has recently launched a new device protection program called RazerCare. This is an optional add-on warranty that customers can add to their devices for additional coverage. According to the company, “Every new Razer Laptop and Mobile Phone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty. RazerCare Essential extends that coverage to 3 years for laptops and 2 years for mobile phones, protecting you from mechanical and electrical failures due to normal product use.”

It’s a bit hard not to draw parallels between RazerCare and AppleCare, and for the most part they both offer the same thing – extended warranty. How much RazerCare will cost will depend on the device. For example for the Razer Phones (either generation), it will be priced starting at $100, but this will increase to $200 for the Razer Blade Stealth laptop, $250 for the standard Blade, and $300 for the Blade Pro.

Are these plans worth it? We suppose it’s up to you to decide whether you can spare the extra money, but considering the prices of the Blade laptops, maybe spending an extra couple of hundred for that peace of mind isn’t necessarily the worst idea. More details about RazerCare can be found on its website.
