Nissan’s Infiniti will be commemorating its 30th anniversary in January by showing off the concept for its first all-electric crossover vehicle. The concept is going to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The concept will offer a glimpse into Infiniti’s design framework for its future electric vehicle plans.

Infiniti has previously said that it plans to electrify its entire lineup going forward from 2021. The concept unveil will thus be a major step forward in this regard as the company will be publicly showing where it wants to take its design as it enters the all electric age.

The company’s crossover content will take inspiration from the earlier Prototype 10 racer and Q Inspiration luxury sedan concepts both of which were showed off earlier this year. These elements will come together to provide the clearest vision yet of the future of INFINITI in an era of electrified design,” Infiniti said.

It’s a bit late to the all electric game as many other manufacturers have already either rolled out fully electric cars or will do so in the next couple of years. Infiniti has set a target of rolling out its first all-electric deadline by 2021. The company hopes that more than half of the new cars it sells globally by 2025 will be electric.
