Wouldn’t it be awesome if your TV could mirror that of your computer? Such features are actually available for some devices, like with AirPlay which would allow an iOS or macOS user to mirror their device to the Apple TV. However Samsung will be taking things to the next level with their 2019 smart TVs.

Instead of merely mirroring the content of what’s on computer on the TV, Samsung’s smart TVs will be able to remotely access your PCs. Dubbed “Remote Access”, this feature will basically allow users to control their PC from their TV. If you have peripherals like keyboards, they can be connected to your TV to allow you to work and interact directly with it.

This means that in the event you might want a larger display to work from, or want to access files from your computer while you’re in the living room, Remote Access should allow you to do just that. This is thanks to a collaboration between Samsung and VMWare, the latter of whom is known for their enterprise software. The best part is that there are no additional accessories like HDMI cables required, making this a truly wireless setup.

According to Hyogun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “Samsung is committed to creating an intuitive and convenient user experience for consumers. With Remote Access, consumers will be able to easily access various programs, apps and cloud services installed on multiple connected devices directly through their TV screen. We will continue to collaborate with our partners to expand the compatibility of Remote Access and provide more services to our users.”
