It is safe to say that come 2019 we can expect to see 5G smartphones from Samsung. This is because Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint have all announced that they will be working with Samsung on developing a 5G smartphone, which essentially leaves T-Mobile as the only major carrier in the US that has yet to announce similar plans.

If you’re a T-Mobile user who is wondering whether or not the carrier might have their own deal with Samsung in place, then you’ll be pleased to learn that they do. T-Mobile has since announced that they too are working with Samsung on developing a 5G smartphone that will be launching on T-Mobile’s network come 2019.

In a post on its blog, T-Mobile’s CTO Neville Ray basically mocked the efforts from other carriers such as Verizon and AT&T, and stated that those carriers were all rushing to announce their 5G smartphone, a phone which Ray claims pretty much all the carriers, including themselves, are working on.

According to Ray, “That’s right, T-Mobile is working on that phone too – and other 5G devices with other OEMs and chipset manufacturers. In fact, we expect to have multiple 5G devices – that will work across multiple spectrum bands – in 2019, which will supercharge the experience for New T-Mobile customers.” No word on what we might be able to expect from that particular model, but it could be worth checking out come 2019 if 5G speeds are what you’re after.
