Kate Spade smartwatches have always been good to look at but their features have not been at par with other modern wearable devices. The fashion brand is rectifying that with the launch of its Scallop Smartwatch 2. It brings improved features such as a built-in GPS and a heart rate monitor. Just like other smartwatches from Fossil, this one runs on Google’s Wear OS, which provides access to services like the Google Assistant, Google Fit, and Google Play.

The Kate Spade Scallop Smartwatch 2 does have water resistance so it would be fine in the shower and even during shallow water swimming. Anything more than that and you risk wrecking this pretty smartwatch.

Its features include a built-in GPS, NFC, and a heart rate monitor. There’s also a 300mAh battery, Bluetooth, and a magnetic charger. The design aesthetic is quite similar to some of Kate Spade’s other watches with the obvious scallops-inspired design elements and pastel hues.

The Scallop 2 will be available in a 42mm gold or 42mm rose gold body with one of three 16mm straps. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100 platform from 2016 and has a 1.2-inch circular display. You won’t find the latest Snapdragon 3100 platform here. It’s available for pre-order starting today through the Kate Spade website. Prices start at $295.
